7 Best High Protein Oats in India, Ranked on the Label

Seven protein oats you can buy in India, compared on what's in the pouch: where the protein comes from, how much you really get per bowl, what's sweetening it, and what it costs per kilo.

Five of our seven picks: Yogabar 26g, Alpino 27g, Pro.Fitness 27g, True Elements 28g and Pintola High Protein Oats

Five of our seven picks. Product images from the brands' listings.

The short answer

The best high protein oats in India for most people is Yogabar 26g High Protein Oats: whey plus soy protein, no added sugar, and usually about ₹400–550 a kilo. Alpino 27g is the pick if you want the most protein with whey in the blend, and True Elements 28g if you avoid dairy. Whichever you buy, remember the headline number is per 100 g: a normal 40–50 g bowl gives about 9–14 g of protein, and most of these are sweetened with jaggery. For the most protein per rupee, plain oats plus a scoop of whey still beats every pouch.

*Protein from the dry oats alone. Cooking in 250 ml of toned milk adds about 8 g. Prices from brand stores and Indian retailers (Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto), September 2026; they change often and flavours vary. Check the live label and the "Sold by" field before buying.

Plain oats already have more protein than most cereals, about 13 g per 100 g. [6] "High protein oats" roughly double that by adding a protein blend, usually texturised soy (the same material as soya chunks), soy protein isolate and some whey, and then add cocoa, nuts, seeds and a sweetener so it tastes like dessert.

The shelf has grown fast: Pintola, Alpino, Yogabar, MuscleBlaze, Doctor's Choice, True Elements, MyFitness and Saffola all sell one, and YouTube is full of "I tried every protein oats" rankings. For this guide we compared the brands that come up most in Indian searches, marketplace bestseller lists and those video comparisons, then read each label for the four things that decide whether a pouch is worth it. We haven't lab-tested these products, and none of the brands has published an independent lab report for its protein oats that we could find.

How we chose

Four checks, no sponsored slots.

1 · Protein

How much, and from what

Protein per 100 g and per real serving, and the order of the protein blend. Whey and soy isolate rank above a blend led by texturised soy.

2 · Sugar

What's sweetening it

No added sugar ranks highest. Jaggery and raw sugar are flagged: jaggery is mostly sucrose, whatever the front of the pack says.

3 · Honest label

Claims that match the panel

A protein claim should hold per 100 g of the dry product. We mark down claims that only work with milk added or that contradict the ingredient list.

4 · Price & availability

Real Indian prices

Price per kg across brand stores and major retailers, and whether you can actually buy it without hunting.

The Picks

The 7 best high protein oats in India.

Yogabar 26g High Protein Oats Dark Chocolate pouch
01Best Overall

Yogabar 26g High Protein Oats, Dark Chocolate

Yogabar · 1 kg
~₹390–549 · per kg; cheaper in multi-packs

The only pick here with no added sugar. Yogabar sweetens with stevia and adds fructooligosaccharides (a prebiotic fibre) instead of jaggery, and still lands at 26 g protein per 100 g from a blend of texturised soy flakes and whey. It's also one of the cheapest per kg when it's on offer. Yogabar claims a PDCAAS of 1.0 for the blend, which is plausible for soy plus whey. The added probiotic (Bacillus coagulans) is a nice extra, not a reason to buy.

Key ingredients: instant oats (46%), protein blend (26.6%: texturised soy, whey), fruits, nuts and seeds (12%), cocoa (7%), FOS, stevia. Watch for: stevia's aftertaste if you dislike it; the protein blend's split between soy and whey isn't disclosed. [7]

Alpino 27g High Protein Oats Dark Chocolate pouch
02Most Protein with Whey

Alpino 27g High Protein Oats, Dark Chocolate

Alpino · 400 g / 1 kg / 2 kg
~₹439–649 · per kg (brand store lowest)

Alpino's newer 27g formula uses rolled oats (44%) and a three-part protein blend of texturised soy, soy, peanut and whey protein isolate, with 12.4 g of fibre per 100 g, among the highest here. It's the strongest protein number on our list among products that include whey. The trade-off is sweetness: 11% jaggery puts it closer to Pintola than to Yogabar on sugar.

Key ingredients: rolled oats, protein blend (texturised soy, soy, peanut and whey isolate), jaggery (11%), cocoa, nuts and seeds (12%). Watch for: jaggery sugar; contains peanut, so skip if allergic. Alpino's older "25g Super Oats" are a different, peanut-butter-based product. [8]

Pro.Fitness High Protein Choco Oats 375 g pouch by MyFitness
03Most Fibre

Pro.Fitness 27g High Protein Oats by MyFitness, Dark Chocolate

MyFitness · 375 g / 900 g
From ~₹219 · brand-store sale price; check the pack size

From the MyFitness peanut butter brand, this mixes rolled oats with jowar flakes and a whey concentrate plus soy protein blend for 27 g protein per 100 g. Its standout claim is 20.6 g of fibre per 100 g, well above the others, helped by chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Fibre plus protein makes this the most filling bowl on paper. It's jaggery-sweetened, and the blend proportions aren't published.

Key ingredients: rolled oats, jowar flakes, protein blend (whey concentrate, soy), jaggery, cocoa, almonds, raisins, chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Watch for: jaggery; that high fibre figure is the brand's claim and can cause bloating if you're not used to it. [9]

True Elements 28g High Protein Oats Dark Chocolate pouch
04Best Dairy-Free

True Elements 28g High Protein Oats

True Elements · 400 g
~₹299 · MRP for 400 g (about ₹750 per kg)

The highest protein figure on the list, 28 g per 100 g, with no whey or milk in the listed ingredients: the protein comes from soy protein products (25%). That makes it the pick if you're lactose-intolerant or avoid dairy. Two cautions. It's the priciest per kg, and although the pack says "no added sugar", the ingredient list we found includes jaggery powder, so read the pouch you buy.

Key ingredients: instant oats (38%), soy protein products (25%), jaggery powder, watermelon seeds, almonds, chia, blackcurrant (9%), cocoa (8%), soybean oil. Watch for: the "no added sugar" claim versus jaggery on the list; soy-only protein. [10]

Pintola High Protein Oats Chocolate 2.25 kg tub
05Easiest to Find

Pintola 26g High Protein Oats, Dark Chocolate

Pintola · 400 g / 1 kg / 2.25 kg tub
~₹525–620 · per kg

The best-known protein oats in India and the easiest to buy, from quick-commerce apps to local stores. It tastes good and has real nuts and seeds. But the protein blend (27%) is led by texturised soy protein, then soy isolate, with whey concentrate last, so it's mostly soy. And "no refined sugar" still means about 14 g of sugar per 100 g from 10% organic jaggery. We reviewed it in full.

Key ingredients: oats (42%), protein blend (27%: texturised soy, soy isolate, whey concentrate), raisins, almonds, pumpkin and chia seeds (12%), organic jaggery (10%), cocoa (7%). Watch for: ~14 g sugar per 100 g; no published lab test. [11]

MuscleBlaze Fit High Protein Oats Dark Chocolate pack
06Best on a Budget

MuscleBlaze Fit High Protein Oats, Dark Chocolate

MuscleBlaze · 400 g / 1 kg / 2 kg
~₹399–699 · per kg (sale price to MRP)

Frequently the cheapest 1 kg protein oats when it's on sale, with a decent 11.1 g of fibre per 100 g. It has the lowest protein on our list at 22 g per 100 g, and the blend is led by texturised soy (22% of the product), with soy isolate and whey concentrate behind it. It also lists raw sugar, with 13.9 g of total sugars per 100 g. A reasonable everyday oats upgrade, not a protein product.

Key ingredients: instant oats (47.9%), texturised soy protein (22%), soy isolate, whey concentrate, cocoa, chia and pumpkin seeds, raisins, raw sugar. Watch for: 13.9 g sugar per 100 g; lowest protein of the seven. [12]

Doctor's Choice High Protein Oats Dark Choco Berry pack
07Best Big Pack

Doctor's Choice High Protein Oats, Dark Choco Berry

Doctor's Choice · 375 g / 750 g / 2 kg
~₹999 · for 2 kg (about ₹500 per kg); 750 g ~₹599

If you eat protein oats every day, the 2 kg pack is among the cheapest per kg for a whey-containing blend. Just read the "27 g protein" correctly: it's per serving of a 50 g scoop cooked in 250 ml of milk. The dry oats provide about 22.6 g protein per 100 g, roughly 11 g per scoop, so the milk supplies a big share of that 27 g. The formula (texturised soy, soy isolate, whey concentrate, jaggery, cocoa, nuts and seeds) is otherwise very similar to Pintola's.

Key ingredients: rolled oats (40.4%), protein blend (27.25%: texturised soy, soy isolate, whey concentrate), dry fruits, nuts and seeds (14.5%), jaggery, cocoa (7%), jowar flakes. Watch for: the per-serving protein claim includes milk; jaggery. [13]

Didn't make the list: Saffola 25g High Protein Oats (25 g protein and 14 g fibre per 100 g, jaggery-sweetened, about ₹530 a kg, but we couldn't confirm the protein source from the listings we could access), and GOAT Life ready-to-eat overnight oats (whey plus stevia and jaggery, convenient, but far more expensive per gram of protein). For a closer look at what's in the most popular pouch, see Does Pintola Oats have soya chunks?

The Evidence

What protein oats can actually do for you.

"High protein" is a legal term, but a low bar. Under FSSAI's claims rules, a food can say "high in protein" if protein supplies at least 20% of its energy. [1] Every product here clears that easily. It says nothing about how much protein you get in the amount you actually eat.

Per bowl, it's a modest dose. Research on muscle building suggests aiming for roughly 0.4 g of protein per kg of body weight per meal, which is about 25–30 g for a 70 kg adult. [2] A 40–50 g bowl of any of these gives 9–14 g from the oats. Cooked in milk you reach about 17–22 g, which is a solid breakfast but still short of what most gym-goers aim for.

Total daily protein matters more than breakfast. A large meta-analysis found gains in muscle from extra protein level off at about 1.6 g per kg of body weight a day. [3] India's reference requirement for adults is much lower, about 0.83 g per kg. [5] Protein oats are one convenient way to add 10 g or so towards either target; they don't replace protein across the rest of your day.

The oat part has its own evidence. Oat beta-glucan, at about 3 g a day or more, modestly lowers LDL cholesterol in trials. [4] Protein oats are only 38–48% oats, so a single bowl gives less beta-glucan than the same weight of plain oats.

Soy versus whey is a smaller deal than the marketing suggests. Soy is a complete protein; it has a little less leucine than whey, so whey edges it for muscle building gram for gram. In a breakfast cereal carrying 10 g of protein, the practical difference is small. What matters more is whether the protein number holds up, and none of these brands has published an independent lab test of its oats.

Cheaper option

Make your own for more protein.

Base

40 g plain rolled oats

About 5 g protein and all the oat fibre, for a few rupees a bowl. [6]

Protein

1 scoop whey, stirred in after cooking

About 24 g protein. Mix it in once the oats are off the heat so it doesn't clump. See our best whey protein picks.

Total

~29 g protein per bowl

Close to three times a typical protein-oats bowl, with no added sugar unless you add it.

Extras

Seeds, fruit, cocoa

A spoon of chia or pumpkin seeds, a banana and unsweetened cocoa get you most of the flavour of a chocolate pouch.

Which one for you?

Match the pouch to your goal.

Choose these if

You want the most protein with the least sugar

  • You're cutting sugar or watching your weight: Yogabar, the only one without added sugar.
  • You want whey in the blend and the highest protein: Alpino 27g.
  • You want a very filling bowl: Pro.Fitness 27g.
Choose these if

Price, availability or diet comes first

Check with a doctor first if you have kidney disease, diabetes (jaggery raises blood sugar just like sugar) or a soy, peanut or milk allergy. Most of these blends contain soy and milk, and Alpino contains peanut.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions about high protein oats

Which is the best high protein oats in India?
On label data, Yogabar 26g High Protein Oats is the best all-round pick: it uses whey plus soy protein, has no added sugar (it's sweetened with stevia), and usually costs about ₹400–550 per kg. If you want the most protein with whey, Alpino 27g is a close second; if you avoid dairy, True Elements 28g uses soy only.
How much protein do high protein oats actually give per bowl?
Less than the pack suggests. The big number (22–28 g) is per 100 g, but a normal bowl is 40–50 g, which gives roughly 9–14 g of protein from the oats. Cooking them in 250 ml of milk adds about 8 g more.
Are high protein oats better than plain oats with whey?
Not usually. 40 g of plain oats (about 5 g protein) plus one scoop of whey (about 24 g) gives close to 30 g of protein, often for less money and with no added sweetener. Protein oats are mainly about convenience and taste.
Do high protein oats have sugar?
Most do. Pintola, Alpino, Pro.Fitness, True Elements and Doctor's Choice are sweetened with jaggery, which is mostly sucrose, and MuscleBlaze lists raw sugar. Pintola and MuscleBlaze show about 14 g of total sugars per 100 g. Yogabar is the exception on our list: no added sugar, sweetened with stevia.
Is soy protein in oats bad?
No. Soy is a complete protein and is safe for most people. It has a little less leucine than whey, so gram for gram it's slightly less effective for muscle building, but in a breakfast cereal the difference is small. Check the order of the protein blend if you specifically want whey.
Are high protein oats good for weight loss?
They can help, because protein and oat fibre are filling, but they're not low-calorie: a 50 g bowl is about 190 kcal before milk. Choose one without added sugar and weigh your portion.
Is Doctor's Choice really 27 g protein?
Not per 100 g. The 27 g is per serving of 50 g oats cooked in 250 ml of milk. The dry oats provide about 22.6 g protein per 100 g, or roughly 11 g per 50 g scoop.
