Brand Program Terms

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms apply to the Brand Review Program.

The short version

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are between Naked Compound Research Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in Bengaluru, India, with its registered office at [registered address] ("Naked Compound", "we", "us"), and the business that applies to the program ("the brand", "you"). By paying a fee or using the Verified badge, you agree to these terms.

2. What the program is

The program lets you ask us to review a product. We offer three services:

3. Editorial independence

  1. Our findings, score and wording are ours alone. You have no right to approve, edit or delay them, except for correcting factual errors under section 8.
  2. We score program products with the same scoring rubric and methodology as products we review on our own initiative.
  3. Nothing you pay, including for sponsored placements or other services, affects a score, a ranking or whether a review is published.
  4. Every program review states at the top that it came through this program, which tier it was, and that the fee did not affect the result.

4. Quotes, fees and payment

  1. We quote a fee in writing for each product and tier. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
  2. We may decline any application, for any reason, before you pay. If we do, you owe nothing.
  3. You pay the full fee before we buy the product. Fees are in Indian rupees and exclude GST, which we add where it applies.
  4. The fee is the same whatever the result.
  5. You may cancel and owe nothing at any time before you pay. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable, except that we refund it in full if we cannot complete the review for a reason within our control, or if we cannot buy the product at retail within 30 days of payment.

5. How we get the product

  1. We buy the product ourselves from a retail channel available to customers in India, without identifying ourselves to the seller. The purchase cost is included in the fee.
  2. We do not test samples supplied by you or your distributors.
  3. You may send us your own certificate of analysis or test reports. We may compare them with our results and mention any differences.
  4. You agree not to try to identify our purchase, or to supply a different batch to the retail channel because of our review.

6. Testing

  1. For Lab Verified reviews, we choose an NABL-accredited laboratory and the test panel for your category. We tell you the panel in the quote.
  2. We keep the unopened remainder of the purchase, where practical, until 90 days after publication.
  3. If a result looks unusual, we may retest at our own cost before publishing.

7. Publication

  1. Once you've paid, we will publish the review whatever it finds. You cannot withdraw it.
  2. We will publish the lab report for Lab Verified reviews, with any personal data removed.
  3. We may update a published review when a product's label, formulation or price changes, or when we retest it. We keep a record of changes in our changelog.
  4. Product pages may include affiliate links. We earn commission on sales through those links whether or not a product came through this program.

8. Seven-day notice and right of reply

  1. We send you the findings, score and lab report at least seven days before we publish.
  2. During those seven days you may:
    • tell us about factual errors, with evidence. We will correct anything we confirm is wrong; and
    • submit one written response of up to 500 words, which we publish in full next to the review, provided it contains no defamatory, misleading or unlawful content.
  3. Disagreeing with our opinion or scoring is not a factual error. We will not delay publication over it.

9. The Verified badge licence

  1. Only products that passed a Lab Verified review and meet the Verified threshold in our rubric are eligible.
  2. The licence lasts one year from the date we issue it and covers only the specific product and variant reviewed. It does not cover other products, flavours, sizes or reformulations.
  3. You may use the badge only in the form we supply, without changing it, and only while the licence is active. You may not suggest that we endorse your brand as a whole.
  4. Each licence includes a retest of a different batch, bought at retail, during the licence year.
  5. We may suspend the badge while we investigate a failed retest, a reformulation, a complaint or a regulatory action. We may revoke it if a failure is confirmed, if you breach these terms, or if the product is reformulated without telling us.
  6. Suspensions and revocations are shown publicly on our Verified Brands page with the date and reason.
  7. When a licence ends, is suspended or is revoked, you must stop using the badge on new materials straight away and remove it from online listings within 14 days. Packaging already printed may be sold through, unless the badge was revoked, in which case we will agree a reasonable timeline with you.
  8. Badge fees are non-refundable if the badge is suspended or revoked because of a failed retest or your breach of these terms.

10. Sponsored placements

We may separately sell clearly labelled sponsored placements, such as newsletter features. They are always marked as sponsored, never appear inside scores or rankings, and are not offered for products that failed our review.

11. What you promise us

  1. The information you give us is accurate, and you hold the licences your product needs to be sold in India.
  2. You will tell us promptly about any recall, regulatory action or reformulation affecting a reviewed or badged product.
  3. You won't misrepresent our findings, quote them out of context, or imply a score or endorsement we haven't given.

12. Confidentiality

Until publication, we keep your quote, correspondence and any documents you mark as confidential private. After publication, the review, score, lab report and your published response are public. We may say publicly that a product came through the program.

13. Intellectual property

We own our reviews, reports, scores and the Naked Compound name and badge. You own your brand names, logos and product materials, and you let us use them in the review and on the Verified Brands page. You may quote short, accurate extracts of a published review with a link to it.

14. Liability

  1. Our reviews are our honest opinion, based on the evidence and tests described in them. They are not medical advice and are not a certification by any government body.
  2. Lab results reflect the batch we bought. We don't guarantee that other batches will give the same result.
  3. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

15. Personal data

We use the contact details you give us to run the program, as described in our privacy policy, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

16. Ending the arrangement

Either of us may stop working together at any time before you pay. After payment, we will still complete and publish the review. Sections 3, 7, 8, 9 (on use of the badge after it ends), 12, 13 and 14 continue after the arrangement ends.

17. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes apply to quotes issued after the change. The version that applied when you paid stays in force for that review or licence.
