The verdict
The best-value verified WPI in India right now. Unflavoured is the better buy — not just on price, but on protein purity per gram.
Nakpro Platinum is a Bengaluru-made whey protein isolate from cross-flow microfiltrated imported whey, independently verified by Eurofins via Trustified in April 2023. The unflavoured version delivers 31g protein from a 34g scoop — 91.2% protein by weight, comfortably above the 90% threshold that defines a true isolate. No amino acid additions. No added sugar. No free BCAAs padding the nitrogen reading.
At roughly ₹1,700–2,099 per kilogram on Amazon.in, the cost per gram of protein runs ₹7.3–8.0 depending on variant. That is 3.7× cheaper than ON Gold Standard (₹27.5/g) and roughly in line with Nutrabay Gold WPI (₹9.6/g) — except Nakpro hits a higher protein percentage per 100g, and both carry active independent lab certifications.
The real limitation here is Nakpro's own product lineup. The brand sells at least six variations under the "Platinum" name — standard flavoured, unflavoured raw, Platinum Plus+ (enzymes + vitamins), Platinum ISO Zero, Platinum with Creatine, and Platinum Plus 2× serving. The protein content differs across these. The Trustified certification covers the core Platinum Whey Isolate. Buying a "Platinum" variant without checking which one you're getting is a genuine purchasing risk.
Whey protein isolate — mechanism and why form matters here
Cross-flow microfiltration is a cold-process membrane separation technique that removes fat and lactose from sweet whey while concentrating the protein fraction. Unlike ion-exchange chromatography (another WPI production method), cross-flow microfiltration preserves the native conformation of whey proteins — immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactalbumin — rather than selectively purifying beta-lactoglobulin at the expense of bioactive fractions.1
For muscle protein synthesis, the mechanism runs through leucine. Whey protein is approximately 11% leucine by amino acid composition. Leucine activates the mTORC1 kinase complex in skeletal muscle — specifically, it works through the Ragulator-Rag GTPase pathway to translocate mTORC1 to the lysosomal membrane where it gets activated by Rheb, triggering downstream phosphorylation of p70S6K and 4E-BP1, both of which accelerate ribosomal translation of muscle-specific mRNAs. The threshold for maximal mTORC1 activation in trained adults is approximately 2–3g leucine per dose.2 A 34g scoop of Nakpro Platinum unflavoured delivers approximately 3.1–3.3g leucine — above this threshold without requiring two scoops. The practical difference between a true WPI (greater than 90% protein) and a WPI-led blend (ON Gold Standard, 80% protein by weight) at equivalent caloric intake: fewer carbohydrates and fat per gram of protein delivered. For lactose-sensitive users — a meaningful subset of urban India, where lactase persistence is lower than in European populations — the near-zero lactose content of a true WPI matters. Cross-flow filtration at 91% protein typically leaves less than 1g of lactose per 34g scoop. See: WPI ingredient entry →
The Trustified Eurofins test (April 2023) includes a full HPLC amino acid profile. No free amino acid additions were detected — no L-Taurine, no L-Glycine, no L-Glutamine, no added BCAA powder contributing to the nitrogen reading. The 31g protein figure in the unflavoured variant comes entirely from whey protein isolate. In the context of the Citizens Protein Project (Philips et al., 2024, Medicine LWW), where 69% of tested Indian protein supplements were found mislabelled, a clean HPLC panel from an independent blind-purchase test is not a minor finding.
The Trustified certification — what passed and what it covers
Trustified's April 2023 certification is now over three years old. This is the oldest active certification in our current India whey review series. Nutrabay Gold WPI carries a November 2024 Eurofins pass; Nakpro Gold (WPC) carries a 2023 Eurofins pass. Batch-level manufacturing can change. The April 2023 certification tells you the product was clean three years ago; it does not certify today's production. Nakpro has not published a newer batch-specific independent COA publicly. The certification remains "Active" on Trustified's site, which means Trustified has not rescinded it — but it should not be read as a rolling certification of current batches.
The Nakpro Platinum SKU maze — which product you're actually buying
This is the most operationally useful section in this review. Nakpro sells at least six products under the "Platinum" banner on Amazon.in and nakpro.com. They look similar. The protein content is not the same. The Trustified certification does not cover all of them.
Platinum 100% Whey Isolate (Flavoured)
Platinum Raw Whey Isolate (Unflavoured)
Platinum Plus+ (Enzymes + Vitamins)
Platinum ISO Zero
The purchase recommendation is direct: if you are comfortable with unflavoured protein, buy Platinum Raw (Unflavoured). You get 91.2% protein by weight, the same Trustified certification, and the lowest per-gram protein cost of any independently verified WPI in India at ~₹7.3/g. If you want flavour, the standard Platinum (flavoured) is the correct SKU — not Plus+, not ISO Zero, not the Creatine co-pack unless you specifically want those additions.

Who should buy this
- Want the cheapest independently verified WPI in India — no equivalent exists below ₹8/g with a Trustified pass
- Are lactose-sensitive and need the near-zero lactose content of a true isolate (unflavoured: 91.2% protein, minimal residual lactose)
- Add protein to oats, dahi, smoothies or cook with it — the unflavoured variant has no sweetener, cocoa, or lecithin
- Are a recreational gym user in Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, or Mumbai who wants a domestic brand with lab documentation and doesn't need imported brand prestige
- Have been using ON Gold Standard and want to understand what ₹27.5/g vs ₹7.3/g actually buys you in terms of protein quality
- Need Informed Choice UK anti-doping certification for WADA-governed competition — only ON Gold Standard carries this among reviewed India-market products
- Want a more recent batch certification — Nutrabay Gold's November 2024 Eurofins pass is 18+ months newer than Nakpro's April 2023 cert
- Prefer a pre-flavoured product with enzyme blend and GI support — Nakpro Platinum Plus+ addresses this, though per-gram cost rises to ~₹9.0
- Are buying for a child or teenager — the 31g per scoop dose exceeds the per-meal protein recommendation for younger users; standard WPC options at lower doses are more appropriate

Full rubric — Naked Compound v3.0
Whey protein isolate has the deepest independent RCT evidence base in sports nutrition. Morton et al. 2018 (meta-analysis, 49 RCTs, 1,863 subjects) established protein supplementation significantly augments lean mass and strength gains from resistance training. Cermak et al. 2012 (meta-analysis) confirmed the post-exercise MPS augmentation. Leucine's mTORC1 activation pathway at 2–3g/dose is established at the molecular mechanism level (Norton et al. 2006, J Nutr) and confirmed in multiple human MPS RCTs. No free amino additions means the evidence applies to the actual ingredient rather than a nitrogen-diluted proxy. 1-point deduction: no cross-flow-specific vs ion-exchange WPI head-to-head RCT data in trained adults — the bioactive protein fraction preservation claim is mechanistically plausible but not clinically confirmed in outcome studies. Evidence tier: Strong (meta-analysis, RCT)2
Cross-flow microfiltered WPI at 91.2% protein by weight (unflavoured) is the correct form for a product positioned as a pure isolate. The unflavoured variant clears the 90% threshold definitively. Flavoured variants at 82.4% are in the functional isolate range but not true isolate by the strict definition — this is the consequence of flavouring agents and cocoa, not a different protein source. No magnesium stearate, no silicon dioxide, no microcrystalline cellulose. Soy lecithin (emulsifier, in flavoured variants) is disclosed and its dose is not clinically relevant. BCAA profile naturally occurring from whey base — not from separate amino acid additions. 1-point deduction: flavoured variants' 82.4% protein-by-weight means buyers paying for "100% Isolate" at ₹8/g get something technically in the concentrate-adjacent range by weight — though the raw material is isolate.
Trustified Eurofins blind-purchase pass (April 2023, Active) is the correct form of independent verification — not brand-commissioned, not self-reported NABL. The Citizens Protein Project (Philips et al. 2024) found 69% of Indian protein supplements mislabelled; Nakpro Platinum is not in that list. Nakpro manufactures from imported global raw materials at their Bengaluru facility. FSSAI compliant. Non-GMO, Gluten-free, no banned substances claim. The 1.5-point deduction is calibrated against two specific gaps: (1) the April 2023 certification is now over three years old with no publicly available newer independent batch COA — legitimate batch quality can change; (2) no NSF, Informed Choice, or equivalent global anti-doping certification. These are meaningful gaps for drug-tested athletes and users who want continuous batch coverage. For the recreational user, neither gap is critical.
₹7.3/g protein (unflavoured) with an active Trustified Eurofins certification is, without qualification, the best value-per-documented-gram of WPI in the Indian market at the time of this review. The second-best documented option (Nutrabay Gold WPI at ₹9.6/g) costs 31% more for a product with a newer certification but lower protein-per-100g (83.3% vs 91.2%). ON Gold Standard at ₹27.5/g costs 3.76× more for a WPI-led blend that tops out at 80% protein by weight. The D2C distribution reduces counterfeiting risk that affects ON and UN ISO Sensation significantly. 0.5-point deduction from maximum because the Plus+ and ISO Zero SKUs dilute the value story for buyers who accidentally purchase the wrong variant.
The core supplement facts panel is accurate — protein content is confirmed by Eurofins, no free amino additions, ingredient disclosure is complete. 2-point deduction for two labelling issues that are real. First: the "100% Whey Isolate" label on the flavoured variants is technically accurate (the protein source is 100% isolate) but creates a reasonable expectation of 90%+ protein by weight that the flavoured product does not deliver at 82.4%. This is a common industry convention, not unique to Nakpro, but it is still a misleading frame. Second: the Nakpro Platinum product family is so fragmented — standard, unflavoured, Plus+, ISO Zero, with Creatine, Platinum+ — with similar packaging and naming, that distinguishing between them requires careful reading at purchase time. Branding clarity is a component of label honesty, and the Nakpro Platinum family fails this specific test.
Weighted score: (9.0 × 0.30) + (9.0 × 0.20) + (8.5 × 0.20) + (9.5 × 0.15) + (8.0 × 0.15)
= 2.700 + 1.800 + 1.700 + 1.425 + 1.200 = 8.825 → 8.5 (rounded to one decimal)
