What does SPF 50 PA++++ actually mean?
SPF measures UVB protection (sunburn risk); PA measures UVA protection (pigmentation, photoageing) on a scale from PA+ to PA++++. Indian dermatology guidance generally recommends SPF 50 with at least PA+++ year-round, since UVA-driven pigmentation and melasma are a near-constant risk across most of India.
Does CDSCO regulate cosmetics the way FSSAI regulates supplements?
Cosmetics fall under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act via CDSCO — a manufacturing and import compliance framework, not a clinical-efficacy gatekeeper. A CDSCO-compliant label confirms a safety baseline; it doesn't independently verify a "brightening" or "anti-hairfall" claim.
Why do trimmer runtime claims vary so much from the box?
Runtime is measured in lab conditions at a fixed speed setting on a fresh battery. Real use on higher speed settings, with denser facial hair, and after battery ageing typically runs shorter than the stated figure. Checking charge time alongside runtime is more useful day-to-day than the runtime number alone.
